Hello everyone. Today I will be talking about family tradition. Like we all know, family is very important and growing up most of us have some family traditions and culture that we probably have lost due to reasons beyond our knowledge that we love and would like to carry on when we start a family of our own.

My favourite tradition while growing up was how we would all eat together from one big plate or tray during the weekend. Weekdays as we all know are work days for adults and school days for children. So everyone is always busy. That is why we always make it a big deal to always eat together from one plate. This makes us all come together as one and also serve as a way of bonding since we have all been apart all through the week.

Our signature dishes then were spaghetti, yam and fish sauce. Every Saturday morning or afternoon, mom would cook spaghetti and pour it all in a tray and we would all sit down on the floor to eat. We would repeat this process on Sunday with yam and fish sauce.

My second favourite tradition was how we would all go out on the second day of every festive period. Sometimes we would go on a family picnic and sometimes we would go to amusement parks and zoos. Those were the best moments of my life.

I miss those moments. We hardly practice these traditions now because we are much older now and some of us have to go outside town to study and work. But one thing that is for sure is that I will carry on this tradition when I start my own family.
